I bought these alongside some of the new Caribbean Calcite pieces and thought they were just darker pieces, and less polished but my very honest supplier said that, although they were from the same area, these are more Aragonite so he didn't want to call them the same. There are definitely small amounts of the Calcite in them and they have the same calming properties, but are a little more grounded. 

However, with this particular piece, it was very obviously the shape and face that drew me to it!
