Glastonbury Workshop Weekend 2023 A collaboration with Petaltone Essences
This sign above was over the entrance to the alleyway that led to our venue for my recent weekend workshop in Glastonbury in the aptly named Avalon rooms. Imagination, Transformation, Inspiration, how perfectly apt and indeed inspiring. I have a long association with Glastonbury which started with attending Judy Hall’s retreats and I even managed to find some rare Avalonite in a geode I once broke open. Judy was able to identify the sparkling, very pale blue and white crystals for me, and that also started (reawakened?) a love affair with blue Chalcedony.
From Judy’s retreats I somehow ended up going on my first ever trip to Egypt, organised by Judy, and the Universe conspired for only four of us to go. After thrusting crystals in my hand in the hotel the night before we flew and telling me that we were going around the temples to send healing to her good friend who was very ill, our relationship changed from teacher/pupil to colleagues and close friends.

Through Judy’s workshops she introduced me to David Eastoe and Helen Guild and I began to learn about the magic of Petaltone essences. Like many people, I started working with them by following Judy’s suggestion of using a mix of Clear 2 Light and Z14 in a spray bottle for a quick and easy method to cleanse crystals, my aura and spaces. Power Shield, to protect the aura and Safe Space were probably my next two and have remained stalwarts both in my office for my personal use and in my healing room for clients. Assisting Judy at many of her workshops so she could concentrate on the teaching, one of my roles was that of crystal fairy, handing out the crystals to participants to use in the exercises and here I saw how Judy used many more of the essences.
Judy’s collaboration and friendship with David and Helen developed over many years as Judy would come across a situation and ask David if he could make an essence to help with it or to create a quicker solution to a problem like clearing and protecting the aura, something that David is passionate about and learnt about through his own experiences. They now have a very extensive and impressive assortment of essences to help with this, which is an absolute key for anyone who is sensitive to energies, works with other people, lives or works near challenging energies or is a healer or therapist.

Judy and I, both karmic astrologers and healers discussed how helpful it would be to have essences made from some of the crystals to enhance their work and also to use instead of them for convenience and a slightly different impact, so she asked David to create some and also, a planetary set which I find invaluable in healing sessions, to bring in the energy of a planet for a client.
I subsequently attended a Petaltone workshop and learnt more about them, their application and their many and varied uses and I then became a stockist as I recommended them so much to my own clients and crystal customers.
I met up again with David and Helen at the celebration for Judy’s life. Although we had met and been in contact before we hadn’t had the opportunity, as we did now, for a longer in-person connection. We chatted for ages, including sharing things that we had been working on and wanted to explore further and I talked about a method I was developing using their Plant ally to capture the energies of a chart and healing. David and Helen were keen to experience this and give me feedback on whether it ‘worked’ which would obviously give me great confirmation and would also introduce another use for the Plant Ally.
When the attunements took place, I sent them their crystals used to capture the energies with the essence and they were both surprised at the energies they felt from the crystal, in addition to the original, distance healing they experienced. That was the final confirmation I needed to launch my Soul Attunements which combine sacred geometry, Soul (karmic) astrology, crystal healing and sound healing.
Earlier this year, they contacted me to say that they were putting together a Petaltone weekend in Glastonbury and wondered if I would be interested in being a part of it, with my crystals. Hmm, let me think for a nano-second……there’s a saying about a bear and the woods that I won’t use but, of course, I was very excited at the idea and to hear more. They referenced a joint workshop that they had run with Judy many years ago and of course I knew that Judy had worked closely with them over the years. Although their original idea was to do something similar, I could in no way replicate what she had done and could only do ‘my own thing’, so to speak, however, it was through Judy that I originally learnt about Petaltones and witnessed how she worked with them and many of these techniques I also use. And so our joint workshop was born and in subsequent chats we realised that we had more than enough ideas for the workshop and the only difficulty might be, deciding which to use!
I did have the idea to maybe keep an empty seat for Judy in spirit, as she didn’t just teach but was keen to learn from others too and attended some of my workshops. On the day, however, I forgot that but Judy’s presence was very strongly brought in through a Sodalite skull called Merit Aten that used to sit on Judy’s hallway table, ‘doing skull business’. She had bought her in Egypt on our second trip and thus has a strong link to there. Jeni, Judy’s daughter, very kindly gifted her to me after Judy passed, and she has been sat on my own little table, with her necklace, just as she did at Judy’s, doing ‘her own thing’ rather than me working directly with her but I knew she was very keen to come to the workshop and Glastonbury. I also sensed an Egyptian theme brewing and had to take some Alabaster that I got from there too.

I was keen to start as I do on any workshop, and that was to create a grid for the weekend and I laid the foundation stones, as it were, starting it off with various crystals. The energies and astrology were such that, although it wasn’t a strong, direct influence, there was an emphasis on releasing and clearing with karmic undertones, and I used my tree cloth, which I usually use for karmic and ancestral healing. Lots of Ancestralite in the base helped and started it off and Merit Aten was placed at the top of the grid, up in the branches of the tree. However I didn’t feel I could complete the grid and felt that everyone needed to be involved with creating it, as it represented the weekend and would be sending energies out to us all.
I invited everyone to intuitively select either one of their own personal crystals or one from those I had brought to add to the grid and then gave them each a copy of the astrology chart for the workshop. Rekindling my crystal fairy role, I took around some crystals that I gifted for everyone to select one for themselves for the weekend. We programmed this, with the aid of Petaltone’s Plant Ally and then I invited them to add their name to the chart to connect it to themselves and then place the crystal in the centre to capture the energies of the weekend. Everyone placed them around the room where felt right for them, some were under their chairs and my own I felt drawn to place on the large grid (see bottom right hand corner).
David and Helen led day one and we did some amazing work with the essences, including forest bathing with some UK tree essences that Helen created. I had tried this before but I think the energies of Glastonbury contributed to heightening my experience and it was as if we were in a forest clearing, surrounded by the most amazing trees and I imagined I was sat on the ground, leaning against one.
David talked about further uses for Plant Ally and about clearing and protecting our energies. We tuned into the energy of the room and did work to clear it with essences on crystals.
Day 2 was mainly mine and we started with an exercise that Judy and I developed over some time. Initially, she discovered that Anandalite™ aka Aurora Quartz was excellent at clearing the aura and you might see yours truly being demonstrated on in more than one video floating around somewhere…But it was a high vibration and not only did you need grounding afterwards, but the aura also needed protecting and Black Amber was found to do all of that, when held over the head and imagining it melting, what Judy described in her books as an Amber melt. Of course, not everyone can sit holding a crystal above their head for a few minutes and using Anandalite in your aura is easy with two people, but more trickly on your own and Judy asked David to create essences from both of these crystals. In the workshop everyone got the opportunity to experiment with using just the crystals, just the essences or both to experience how they felt and which they preferred and we talked about how useful a technique it is for anyone doing healing, to cleanse the aura whilst the client is initially settling down and whilst you are checking the next step. With the aura cleared, grounded and protected, any further work is starting from a much better position than when the client first came in.

I demonstrated how you can assess how anything such as a place, electronics, land energy or even other people can weaken our energy and they had lots of time to play with also assessing what counteracts those, and what also enhances our energy. For example, Shungite, Labradorite and Black Tourmaline are all good crystal protectors and for some people and situations an essence might help and for others, an essence, or both. You can check further as to whether to carry or wear a crystal, or use colour or symbols.
From the Soul alchemy training I did with St Germain (via Edwin Courtenay), I shared a technique to connect to our Soul and bring our heart, body and Soul together through Soul alchemy and we enhanced this into a very powerful experience with the addition of Petaltone’s Orange Chalice.
After an introduction to crystals grids and how to work with them, we finished the day with everyone creating and experiencing a personal crystal grid with a guided meditation from myself and incorporating their crystal which had been in their personal grid all weekend. There was more, we packed a lot in to those two days, but I wanted to give you a flavour of what we did.
Judy’s presence was most certainly with us that weekend and I got the feeling she was still enjoying listening and learning from us all. I was awake early on the second morning and took the opportunity to connect and I asked her if she had a message she would like me to pass on. A dismissive flourish of her hand was accompanied by a strong No, and she said that it wasn’t about her. Just get on with it, was what she said, in her hallmark direct but not unkindly way.
During the day, one of the participants shared that her social media had reminded her, through Jeni, that the Saturday was the two year anniversary of Judy’s celebration of life, where David, Helen and I first talked and the suggestion was made of collaborating in some way. It took us two years, but we got there.
Last, but by no means least, I was prompted to dismantle the main grid before everyone left and ‘release’ Merit Aten from her work as she was very keen to say Hello to everyone. She was literally buzzing as I took her off of the table and handed her to the first person and there were lots of noises of appreciation and amazement as she worked the room!
