S3122 Large Arkansas Quartz from 8-8-8 grid
This was one of the four large corner stones that were placed in the 8-8-8 grid when it was updated from its original form, and as many Golden Healers as I could find and sensibly squeeze in, in a symmetrical pattern, were added.
You can read more about the grid HERE
Chunky, weighty and lively, it is now super charged and raring to work with someone. When I was photographing it, I saw many faces and creatures and from one perspective, there is a natural mouth and teeth created by some points protruding.
This crystal was hand collected (dug up!) by myself in Arkansas where we visited two mines, with two distinct types of crystals. This type is characterised by this crystal and others such as S1523. They mainly have a Milky Quartz base, although there were some clear ones too. There is a lot of Golden Healer with dark brown and the points and surfaces on the larger pieces are flat and large. This mine was called Sweet Surrender!
The other type is characterised by listings such as S3120, one of the other four large cornerstones of the 8-8-8 grid, and they have very clear points in rich iron-coated soil which gives a red hue and the matrix is crumbly, I believe sandstone, so over time some of the points are likely to be released as the matrix crumbles away.
When I brought some of these two types back for my good friend Judy Hall (The Crystal Bible), she loved them and felt they had the same properties as Green Ridge Quartz which is no longer being mined, and she subsequently changed the listing in a book she was updating, from Green Ridge to Arkansas Quartz.]
Together, I feel these two types of Quartz represent and bring masculine (clear) and feminine(Milky)
