Stilbite is a form of Zoisite, sometimes called Bundle Zoisite and usually forms in bow-tie shaped bundles of white, yellow or brown. Soft and brittle with a pearly lustre it is pleochroic, an optical phenomenon that means it can appear to be a different colour when viewed from a different angle, and this characteristic helps us to see things from different viewpoints and to change rigid mindsets. Equally, it can help us to separate out our own thoughts from others.

Although soft and looking delicate, its growth patterns show us that there is strength in numbers and connecting to others, in co-operation and negotiation. This crystal connects us to the spiritual realms, to guides, angels and guardians and has a protective, nurturing, feminine quality and helps to raise consciousness.

Stilbite often forms with Apophyllite and both are meant to be in this lovely crystal but with the Stilbite changing colour I was unable to spot any Apophyllite, although it might be there. What this piece does have, is a lovely, characteristic overlapping formation
