Grape Chalcedony/Agate Crystal of the month for January 2021
Called either Grape Chalcedony or Grape Agate, this unusual and beautiful crystal seemed an obvious choice for January, with Saturn and Jupiter now in Aquarius, Mercury also in that sign for the majority of the month, from where it goes retrograde on 30th, and the Sun entering it on 19th.
In subtle lavenders and greens, sometimes with soft pinks and creams, this crystal emits a calming, gentle energy and its many, small grape-like nodules, give a very unusual and intriguing look, often literally looking like a bunch of grapes. Aquarius is a very humanitarian sign, connected to groups and the collective, but it is important that we do not lose ourselves, our compromise our values for the ‘bigger cause’. Finding ‘our tribe’, groups of people who have similar and shared values, and where we can retain our authenticity whilst also adding to the group, is important. Like an orchestra, we play our instrument to the best of our ability, listening to all the others, not trying to dominate or play too loudly, and stepping forward to play to the best of our ability when a solo phrase or section of a piece calls for it, then stepping back when it is someone else’s turn to shine. Grape Chalcedony encourages us to find our authenticity and individuality within a group or the collective, a key energy for 2021, and to understand our role in the collective.
Each nodule is different, has unique colouration and personality, but when they all join together they combine their strengths to make something bigger, stronger and unique.
This intriguing crystal also helps to overcome fears and conquer our inner terrorist, the inner saboteur, helping to quieten its voice and the fears behind it, and emitting a reassuring energy like a high from our favourite granny, it tells us; All is well, and all will be well. Put your feet up, rest, relax, it’s OK.
